“When I came to the states in ’93, I was on a visitor visa and had the opportunity to audit classes at Washington University. I tried out many different art classes that fall and fell in love with glass. It was such a fluid, beautiful and graceful medium that I was hooked right away. I signed up for classes and continued there for a couple of years. Then moved to SIUE for my final studies in Pre-Medical Biology and was lucky enough that there was a glass program I could join there.”
I have 2 beautiful boys that took me away from working in glass, so I took a break for about 20 years. During that time I continued to create in other mediums, I’ve used paper to make 3 dimensional cards, Icelandic wool to make sweaters and all sorts of other yarn to make anything from Pillows and throw blankets (mermaid) to leggings, scarves and hats.
“I’m also a makeup artist (www.makeupbyelin.com) and this is another field that I’m very passionate about, so I’m lucky to have jobs that I love.”
I’m currently showing at 3rd Degree (https://thirddegreeglassfactory.com) (look for my pedestal) and select pieces at Hufford’s (https://www.huffordsjewelry.com/)
In my free time I always choose to create, I love camping with my boys and the boy scout troop they are in and travel is also high on my to do list.
I hope you enjoy my glass as much as I enjoyed making it for you!
